Three German cameras using similar technology: reflex with central shutter; well sold in the late 1950s and 1960s.

Producing reflex, as we know nowadays, was difficult in the 1950s and early 1960s. The Voigtlander Bessamatic, the Kodak reflex Retina and the Zeiss Ikon Contaflex adopted a
technology putting together central shutters and a reflex system with mirror without instant return. After taking a picture, the viewfinder became dark.
