Been there, not done that

Pigeon Forge’s greatest claim to fame is as the home of Dollywood, a theme park partly owned by famous country singer Dolly Parton.

We had no interest in visiting it but one afternoon checked out the entry price -- $126 for the two of us just to get in the door! Outrageous, especially for a place we didn’t want to see, anyway, except perhaps to watch the American Eagle Foundation‘s show there.

I will say that Dollywood owns the property that the foundation is located on, just down the road, and generously funds the operation. Still, not enough to make me shell out the money just to say I’ve been to Dollywood. We saw the sign, and that was enough.

That is outrageous. Sounds like a rip off. I can only imagine the concession prices. V

Dolly Parton is quite an artist but 126$ (157$ CDN) is a bit over my budget for that king of visit. :-)
