On the day before we left Riyadh for good, we were provided with a driver to take us wherever we wanted to go. One place was the National Museum of Saudi Arabia for a final visit.
There was an outstanding exhibit on the Hajj, the pilgrimage to Makkah required of all Muslims once in their lifetime if they are able to do it. This is a model of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, the Prophet’s Mosque, in Medina. I have been to Medina but haven’t seen the mosque since many parts of the city were “haram” (forbidden) to non-Muslims.
