White-tailed deer fawn

This youngster, about the size of Sasha, ran out of the bush ahead of us and then stopped and looked back. Clearly curious, she circled around behind some tall vegetation and then came straight toward us, getting within about 50 feet. In this photo, she is running toward Sasha and myself! The encounter lasted about 10 minutes before she ran off. Meanwhile, Sasha sat at my feet, completely unmoving, but fixated on the fawn. She never made any attempt to chase it or even show interest. What a good dog!

Great photo, eyeball to eyeball, full of curiosity with maybe a hint of concern as well.

This young one needs some more lessons from Mum about people and dogs. Lucky you two were the ones to be there.
A very sweet photo.
