Another picture (or painting) of Old Riyadh with the Masmak fort in the distance. I am still amazed at how much it has changed, into a modern metropolis full of innovative, modern architecture.

We’re leaving Sunday night, and before then I have to repack all my clothes and other belongings, wash the embassy’s linens, clear out the refrigerators, clean up the piles of sand Sahraa has deposited all around the house in the one day since our housekeeper was here and anything else that needs doing. I’ll have my laptop until the bitter end, though, so will probably still be around Pbase intermittently till evening, then not at all for about 24 hours. It will be a long and difficult trip, especially for Sahraa…

We went out today for one last tour of Riyadh, even to a very rich new neighborhood (!), so I now have even more pictures left than before. As I said on a previous picture, these Saudi galleries will be continuing for the foreseeable future!
