She Who Must Be Obeyed backs her red Mercedes-Benz car out of the driveway in Maricopa, Arizona to begin the drive home to Renton. The garage door is just starting to descend. The Green Weenie, filled with all manner of stuff---including a cat, and a bird, and a folded recumbent trike---waits for its driver (the photographer) to ease it down the road.
About 85 hours later both vehicles arrived home after overnight stays in the California cities of Bakersfield and Weed. We drove about 510 miles for three days straight.

In May 2016 we returned home, taking three days to drive 1550 miles. Summary of the drive home:
Day 1: Maricopa, Arizona to Bakersfield.
Day 2: Bakersfield to Weed (at the base of Mt. Shasta).
Day 3: Weed to Renton.
