This pottery stand was the only colorful thing at Kramer Junction, California. This junction, sometimes called “Four Corners,“ is where US 395 intersects California SR 58, about half-way between the desert cities of Mojave and Barstow. It’s basically a place that exists to serve the truck traffic that passes through.
We stopped here during our drive from Maricopa, Arizona to Bakersfield because our dogs needed to stretch their legs. This pottery stand was next to the dirt lot where we parked. After this our next stop was outside of Bakersfield (dump truck photo).
In May 2016 we returned home, taking three days to drive 1550 miles. Summary of the drive home:
Day 1: Maricopa, Arizona to Bakersfield.
Day 2: Bakersfield to Weed (at the base of Mt. Shasta).
Day 3: Weed to Renton.
