A statue of Henry Longfellow. He published his first book at age 10. He was ranked 14 in his college class at Boden College (18 men graduated). Others within his year group there were: Nathaniel Hawthorne & Franklin Pierce (a later U.S. President). Longfellow later went on to teach at Harvard. He walked to/from the college each day, and passed as black smith. He later wrote a famous poem that starts "Under the spreading chestnut tree...", which was to honor that black smith.
