Monkey quest: Dry and desolate

We took a day trip with a group of friends out to this area, which I think was east of Riyadh, to see monkeys, probably baboons, which somebody had seen there before in large numbers. Unfortunately we didn’t encounter any wildlife, but had a nice time visiting and driving around in search of the elusive critters.

This was the general terrain in which we were traveling around. Pretty dry and desolate!

Picnic Saudi style, posted earlier:

It looks so hot and dry... as Lynn said, almost an alien landscape. V

Seems like an alien landscape until I see those power lines on the horizon. V

I wonder what the Martians would think if they landed here first. V
