The innovative architecture in downtown Doha was one of the big attractions of the city for me – it seemed like every building must have been approved for a unique design that would only contribute to the striking skyline because there wasn’t a boring, boxy building among them.

This is the Qatar Olympic Committee headquarters, which was at that time advertising the Qatar 2015, 24th Men’s Handball World Championship. We were just leaving Doha when it was getting started, and our hotel was filling up with officials and fans.
