This is the happiest house in the nation this evening. Andrew came home from the NICU so both brothers, Andrew and Austin, are now together in their very own house for the first time. Their parents, Richard and Christiane, can now attempt to settle into some sort of routine dealing with their babies. It is not going to be easy. With two of them, eating, sleeping and pooping are random events meaning unpredictable. The boys spent seven weeks in the NICU. That was a hard situation. There is no way to spend 24/7 with them, so it only when the boys are actually home that Rich and Christiane can start really feeling like parents.
So, Ginny and I will have spent almost seven weeks here when we leave on Sunday morning. It has certainly been rewarding for us and we hope it has been useful for Richard and his family. Now that the boys are home, Ginny will get a lot more opportunities to do her favorite grandmotherly thing, holding the babies.
Life is good!
