The Red Deer River valley turned out to be one of the most beautiful places on the westward trip. Like the other oversized
river valleys I'd been seeking out, it was cut by glacial floods 15,000-20,000 years ago. But near Drumheller it cut through
layered badlands rocks and sediments, making gorgeous cliffs. Near Drumheller it also exposed lots of fossils, making Drumheller
Dinosaur Center for the area.
