Back to the Great Hall (shown in the first picture of this sub-gallery), which is decorated with 17 tapestries depicting key events in Danish history. They were commissioned in 1990 for Queen Margrethe II’s 50th birthday and were completed in 2000. The Great Hall is the largest and most spectacular of the Royal Reception Rooms. It's 40 meters long with a ceiling height of 10 meters, and a gallery runs all the way around the room. The hall seats 400 guests and is used for banquets, state dinners and receptions.
