The Elegant Christiansborg Palace

The Reception Rooms at Christiansborg Palace had to be one of my favorite places in Copenhagen, incredibly elegant and amazingly well lit. The palace has been destroyed by fire and rebuilt several times, with the first castle erected on the site in 1167 and the present structure completed in 1928. The Reception Rooms and Royal Stables are used by the monarchy and are open to the public, while the rest of the palace currently houses the Danish Parliament, the Prime Minister’s Office and the Supreme Court.
