These birds do have the most amazing gait! Wings held out (in order to look larger?) head held low and very slow but purposeful big steps this bird looks very menacing but somehow clockwork. The first time I saw this behaviour was when watching the last wild 'negevensis' race of Lappet-faced Vulture in Israel at Sidi Boquer in 1993. He was a monster and when he moved in to feed the Griffons parted without a fight.
