June 28, 2014

We were awake in the wee hours this morning getting arrangements made for our trip to Oregon. At this latitude, the sun only sets for about two hours, but there is light all the time. If you think about it, the position of the sun rotates around 360 degrees. This church, which is in front of our hotel, has all kinds of different illumination during the day. I went outside this morning about 4am local time and found some nice light. Additionally, it was not mobbed by tourists. That made for nice shooting.

The sunlight makes a big difference as you can see if you compare to our photo from June 25. We always keep an eye on the sun angle and take advantage of it whenever possible.
