I have been thinking recently. When I start thinking Ginny starts worrying. At the core of this contemplation is how to use the photographs that we take. We take lots of them and enjoy trying to get a decent photo out of a particular subject. That is something you can do with digital cameras a lot easier than with film cameras. On the other hand, digital cameras can make you sloppy because you can blaze away until you get it right. As you know, I try to post something on pBase every day. Sometimes the photograph is an excuse to ramble on about something that has my attention. At my age, anything that can hold my attention for that long is unusual. I also post some photos from trips that we take. I like to get them all in one place.
In addition to PBase, I put stuff up on Facebook. Now, you are probably thinking that I have gone social media nuts. Not true! About six years ago as my high school graduating class struggled to contact classmates for our 40th reunion, we decided to give facebook a try as a method to get together and plan for the 45th reunion (last fall). That turned out to be a huge success because Facebook provided a venue to easily communicate and plan. One interesting side note is that I post lots of photos of Ginny, just like I do on PBase. As a result most of my classmates recognized her at the reunion and it made it a lot more fun for her.
Anyway, I posted the same 100+ photos of our Alaska trip on Facebook and on PBase. That is a redundancy, obviously. Photos I post on PBase get a few comments every once in a while. On Facebook I get lots of comments from lots of people. PBase and Facebook have two different styles. Ginny insists that I keep posting stuff on "What I Did Today" because her friend Karen in New Orleans and her cousins Daniel and Jacqueline in Belgium like to read it. Actually, I like to do it because it is fun. As for the rest of it, I am not sure. I am thinking of simply posting a link to my Facebook album when we are on a trip. Still thinking about that one.
