Low tide at the Kyle of Tongue and this spectacularly long and gigantic estuary is all but drained of salt water leaving the salt marshes and mud flats, interspersed with channels of rapidly flowing water, exposed. Sunrise didn't look particularly promising but in event a gorgeous burst of radiant light streaked through the clouds and seared the summit peak of shapely Ben Loyal. Twas magnificent.
