A friend had a book on Japanese art of Wabi-sabi which totally intrigued me, as it highlighted the beauty I "see" in the old, of things past their bloom, ie, flowers.

The Japanese art of Wabi-Sabi nurtures all that is authentic by acknowledging three simple realities:
nothing is permanent, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect.
