Maw-Nan-Tuck Inn, Horseneck

An HA Dickerman card, therefore published somewhere between 1907 and 1936.
The house to the left of the inn either wasn't constructed yet or was retouched out of the photo to give the inn a better view. Allen's would be off the left edge of the image.

Our family owned the Maw-Nan-Tuck house from the late 40s to the early 80s. (It saved 7 people in the '38 hurricane) The surf-bathing house also included a snack bar for a time in the early part of the century, according to family. The house to the left of the inn was built later (over one weekend to the surprise of the neighbors (Allens)..no code then...just try to walk between the houses- i could barely fit when i was a kid) . Allens later sold to Chandy's...I remember surf bands playing on the water side in '65, like a Frankie and Annette movie but with beer and cigarettes.
