Common spring moth (Heliomata cycladata) #6261

Photographed at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden. I had always wanted to see one of these little day-flying moths and was very happy to come across this early one morning. I have since kept my eyes open for another sighting, but so far, this has been the only one I've seen, despite that they are supposed to be common. Wingspan on this is about 20mm.

It is gorgeous for a moth!
Like your painting touch. It is still easy to recognize without sharp details :)

not at all common here on the coast...looks a sparkler...the 'pontillisme' effect is marvelous...V
