We both wanted to drive up the Dempster Highway, which goes all the way north to Inuvik where the Mackenzie River empties into the Arctic Ocean. But we sensibly turned back after seeing this sunset panorama - the advice in those days was not to travel the Dempster without at least two spare tires, and preferably four.
