gray feathers in mantle post juv. scap. molt, they are worn, not new

Worn gray feathers visible in the close-uyp. These are not new. Darker tertials/crescents visible . I do not think a Herring Gull shows such feathers, but they certainly are variable. Click on image to see,,,,,
