25th - Private Gate

Hawling, Glos. view map

"Not through here, you don't!" This is in the wall of the churchyard and leads to what I presume is the vicarage, or (more likely) what was once the vicarage but is now a hugely expensive Cotswold village 'des res'

a great find Doug, some things should be strictly private..like a door!

Just love the wooden texture of this old door !

Whoever lives here should find a less strident sign! It's just out of character with the charm of the gate in this old wall.

Not only a gate, but a private gate. Double good!! Very nice shot.

Yep, don't go in...you might get yelled at. I do like the gate....I'd take the sign down but I'm a bad girl!

I expect you are right about the private 'des res' since most of the vicars now live in small houses. Anyway, this is a fabulous shot. Wish I had such an entrance to my garden!! I love photos of gates and ivy covered stone walls. VV

Privately owned - not open any more for the parishioners to come visit the vicar...
