Day 11

North of Salem, Or

Mon - Aug 17
Randle, Wa to Neskowin, Or
Weather-sunny and warming to low 80’s (29C)

Time to pack up and travel south to Neskowin, on the Oregon coast… just north of Lincoln City and south of Tillamook. It’s a nice day to travel and we’re prepared, as we had methodically traced out the best route.

Ha, Ha, Ha…nope…we got lost in Salem (not fun with a 32’ motor home and a car dragging along behind). Seemed like we were going in circles, but finally got out of the city tangle… and then we went in more circles… :O). Didn’t have the GPS programmed for this part of the route as it really looked easy (big learning note: maps can be deceiving). Finally, after a few missed signs, we determined we were on the right road and on we went.

Oregon is known for many things, one IS NOT good road signage. In some cases the signs were right at the turns, and in others the signs were covered with bushes and trees. Oh well, we made it (despite the challenges) after six hours plus of travelling (even Gus felt like it was a long day). After registering at the RV Park, we pull into our space and start to set up. Sigh…oh my… I can see the sewer hook-up is a long way off from the motor home connection and I know we don’t have enough hose. Executive decision…we’ll get some tomorrow because now we’re having dinner and going to bed….long day. The adventure continues…
