"Lilau" is a Portuguese word. In English, it means spring. This spring was one of important resource of flesh water in Macau. In a popular Macanese phrase, they said "If you drank the Lilau spring water, you will never forget Macau". As Lilau Square was one of residential area of Macanese, there are many South European style houses in this district.
