As same as Chihkan Tower, the former building of Fort Anping was built by Dutchmen. Therefore, it has a Dutch name "Fort Zeelandia". The former fort was built from 1624 to 1634.
However, it was damaged, re-built and knocked down many times. The existing fort was built by Japanese army in 19th Century.
