Harley Looking - Updated 11/01/2009 -

Even though this is a picture I took in 2004, after cleaning up the background I liked the way Harley looked and thought I would add it to the gallery.

After fighting congestive heart failure, collapsing trachea and an enlarged heart with fluid build up on his lungs we lost our favorite boy September 23, 2009 at 10:32AM. This was the time he was put to sleep to get him out of his misery. We got Harley from Pickens Pet Rescue October 29th, 2004. He had been severely beaten by his previous owners and attacked anyone who tried to pet him. It took us weeks to get him to trust us and not bite. Over time he became our baby. In 2007 he had a seizure that almost killed him. Cobb County Vet ER pulled him thru and told us he had about 6 months to live. About the same time Vetmedin was introduced for dogs with heart problems. The Vetmedin kept him alive 2 years longer than if he had not received the new drug.

It is still hard today to look at his pictures. He had lost his attack streak and would let us do anything we wanted with him, to a degree. He never did like anyone coming up behind him.

He visited every state East of the Mississippi on several trips we took in our motor home. He would sit in Linda's lap and co-pilot or lay under my seat and sleep.

He was and always will be a very special boy to us. Like I said earlier, we still miss him dearly and will not forget his funny attitude he would use with us.

Stoney has come into our lives and we love him too. Over time we know we are going to be just as attached to Stoney as we were to Harley. While you can never replace Harley, you can love the next Chihuahua that has entered into our lives.

We have said goodbye to our buddy Harley. We now say hello and love our new Chi Stoney....
