Windblown frozen plates of ice stack up like chips at a poker table at the end of Loch Achanalt in Strathbane. This was the last day of the freezing winter temperatures with the telltale thaw showing itself in the form of dense clouds and the creaking and groaning of the ice mass flexing its aching muscles.
