On New Year's day we travelled to Cowichan Bay and caught this immature Bald Eagle as he was finishing his afternoon meal. The head and tail feathers of an immature eagle gradually change colour as they age and turn to pure white by the time they are four or five years old. The immature eagle sometimes appears larger than mature adults. That's because a young eagle's feathers are fluffier
