Eagles have been kind of scarce lately, then we just rounded the corner today and this one was waiting to perform for us. The bald eagle's scientific name, Haliaeetus leucocephalus, comes from Greek words that translate as “white-headed sea eagle.” I liked the original name so decided to use it for the title of this photo.
