Thank you CJ, Lydia, Mary Anne, Penny, Jim, Olaf and Cindy... apologies for taking time to acknowledge your comments.

There is a story behind this shot. I went to the local park expressly to shoot trees for this comp' and had to walk down a steep path without the aid of my crutches, which I have just recently 'set aside'

Because of the distance and my still quite delicate leg/knee and neck carried only the camera and WA lens to 'snap' trees. Shot a bunch of boring shots then decided to go back and get the big lens to shoot some cute birds and some wildlife that was frolicking about.

So.... grunting and groaning to myself I made the return journey with the 100-400 L lens and was near this tree aiming at blue wrens when I looked up and saw 'grumpy bum' here looking at me? Bummer..... I had to scramble back n forth to get the best angle with a minimum 130mm (100mm X crop factor of the MkII)!

The main problem being a rather steep hill (cliff) behind me and a tumble down that would not have had a pleasant outcome?

I certainly did not feel like hiking back the half mile up hill to change lens!

Hence 105mm X1.3 = 136.5mm closeup... lol

Regards Bob

That is just amazing. What a face! The nice light angle really brings out the facial features :) Jim H.

I gather that this is the same tree that's behind the walkers in your next shot? It really has a human look to it...like something out of Tolkien.
