2nd place - A Gift...

I was coming back to my car after a mediocre hour of shooting fall color and, lo and behold,
a single maple leaf had fallen onto the shiny black roof of my car - already reflecting the colorful surroundings.
What a gift! I never would have thought of setting this up, had it not happened naturally...

Sony DSLR-A350 ,Minolta 50mm f/1.7 AF
1/50s f/8.0 at 50.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Jerry, you and Inframan inspired me to use my car as a backdrop for my late entries. Unfortunately, my attempts were not nearly as lovely as this. Maybe it has to be chance (and a better photographer) Just beautiful....

Good one Jerry. At first glance I thought it was a case of bad bokeh but after reading your explanation and looking further it is really quite unique.

Great image, Jerry! Very efficient set up which leads to a superb result. I think I need to sell my silver colored car immediately ;-)

I kept wondering how the leaf managed to float just on top of the water & how you processed the water to look like that. Then I read your description. You saw & seized a great shot, Jerry.
