Image taken on 2008-06-08, on the last night of The Canarian Expedition. Location at 2000m over sea level on Teide Volcano, Tenerife Island. Amazingly transparent and dark skies, but seeing less than average.

M9 is a not very bright (mag 7,8) globular cluster located in constellation Ophiuchus, here located in the center of the image. To the right is a very prominent dark cloud, another one to the lower left. To the left of this wide-field shot, an extra bonus of a pair of much dimmer globular clusters - NGC6356 to the left top and NGC6342 to the left bottom. Vast star clouds of the Milky Way stand as background.

North is up.
