Teide volcano, Tenerife

Image taken on 2008-06-08, on the last night of The Canarian Expedition. Location at 2000m over sea level on Teide Volcano, Tenerife Island. Amazingly transparent and dark skies, but seeing less than average.

M20 is visible in the lower right corner. Above and to the right is a small open cluster M21. To the far left, a dramatic dark lines and faint red ha nebulosity are also visible. Vast star clouds of the Milky Way stand as background.
