Solar eclipse of 1 August 2008 visible from Warsaw was only partial (35%). This image was taken from the terrace of CAMK (Centrum Astronomiczne im Mikołaja Kopernika) during public eclipse viewing. Canon 20D with 17-85 EF-S "kit" lens with Baader photographic solar filter (ND = 3,8) sat at ca 50mm was placed on a tripod in a quiet corner of the terrace. Shots were taken every 5 minutes using Canon camera timer. The background shot was taken well after eclipse with the camera pointing approximately at the middle of the eclipse path, and the lens set to ca 20mm to cover more than the path of the Sun during the eclipse. Basic processing in Photoshop. Sun path curvature is most likely a result from lens distortion.
