The Laughing Gull is a rare vagrant from North America. During January 2006 an exceptional number of Laughing Gulls were recorded in the UK, probably driven across the Atlantic by weather conditions. The bird photographed here was at Ardrossan, Ayrshire for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately the only images I managed to get were of the bird on top of a rather ugly street light.
