What a drive ! 180 Km of roadworks, dust and rubble. The hillside below the road has been virtually destroyed in places by the rubble being bulldozed over the edge. The roosting crevice where we had seen a Cape Eagle Owl several years ago was covered in debris - but the bird was still there roosting in a tree close by.
