Mountain Nyala, Dinsho, Bale Mountains NP, Ethiopia

We found this group of Mountain Nyala quite close to the road a few kilometres before Dinsho in the Bale Mountains National Park. All the animals in this photo are females or juveniles. There was one male animal some distance away in the bushes displaying his magnificent head of horns.

I am no expert so I can neither agree nor disagree with what you say. The animals were pointed out to us as Mountain Nyala by our guide. There was a male animal mostly concealed some distance away from these animals which certainly looked like illustrations I have seen of Mountain Nyala.

Hi Ian. These are not mountain nyals as you call them, but behors or Godaa in oromo language. please go to google and find out what mountain greater kudu or Gadamsa, in oromo laungage, looks like. I'm from dinsho, but living in diaspora for the moment.
