Hungary - Day 4

We spent the fourth day of the trip in the Black Stork hide. This hide is positioned on the edge of a marshy pond which is stocked with sizeable fish. This attracts the Black Storks along with the herons, egrets and spoonbills affording amazingly close-up views. Once you have entered the hide it is not permitted to go outside until 'released' to prevent disturbance to the birds which meant a long eleven hour stay. Of course, the White-tailed Eagle put in an appearance after about ten and a half hours.
Unfortunately the weather was not so good this day with strong cold winds and a little rain which made the stay in the hide a bit uncomfortable and the light early on was very poor. The variety of species seen from this hide is low so altogether it was fairly hard work.
