Bloody Remnants

Loch Garten, Cairngorm, Scotland.

Like two fallen soldiers and the aftermath of some macarbre battle these remnant trees seem to be seeping blood into the still waters of the loch. Not true of course but my imagination does run riot occasionally. The incredible colour of the water is actually due to the very high tannin content of the loch which fills up on peat filtered water further up the hills.
