Backlit Scots pine trees adorn a tiny island near Slattadale in Loch Maree on a brilliantly crisp winter morning with the sun just rising over the crest of a hill such that the frost glistened brilliantly on the foliage and island grasses. I was happy with what I got already but then the sun struck the ice water of the loch and a wraith like advection mist began to rise off the surface of the loch.
