After the storm from the tail end of a North American hurricane a couple of weeks ago. The genuinely vibrant hues of ochre and gold are from the tannins that have leached from the moorland heather above and traveled through the peat streams and subsequently discharged on to Mellon Udrigles fine white sand beach in Scotland and thence to the sea. The pale rocks lay embedded within Mellon’s beach and I saw this arrangement with the lovely scalloped shaped platelets of sand surrounding puctuated by green sea weed. Needless to say the colour fascinated me and kept me enthralled for a good couple of hours.
