The massive estuary that forms the Kyle of Tongue forges inland several miles and forms salt water creeks and salt marshes. The tidal draw is huge and very fast moving with the incoming tide consuming land at a spectacular rate. It is around the edges that I find most fascinating the grass is inexplicably green almost luminous and the complex edges form fascinating patterns. Whilst there a sudden summer squall marched across the sky soaking me and sweeping the land with honey coloured light that produced a spectacular double rainbow over distant Ben Hope.
