Fractured Loch Clair

Loch Clair, Torridon, Scotland

Winter mornings don't often mature into something as special as this but a gap in the clouds allowed early morning sunlight to paint the snow clad peak of Liathach in the Torridons whilst a moody grey sky tinged with patches of blue reflected onto the fracured ice in Loch Clair. In a few places a prevailing wind had at some stage blown across the ice and as it thawed sheets of ice had stacked up and refrozen on its surface.

That white reflection in the ice is pretty special
I've seen Liathach 38 years ago but the weather was too bad for a climb, and so its high on my list of Mts I want to climb.
