Roussillion

Roussillion, Aix-en Provence, France.

Roussillion is an ochre town the walls of every house in the village are stained with the rich red hues of the adjacent ochre cliffs. At midday the light bounces down the red walls in much the same manner as the American slot canyons and in exactly the same way a soft red light infuses everywhere causing the walls to glow as if they were burning coals..
