The Horns Of Alligin

Beinn Alligin, Torridon, Scotland

This in my humble opinion is the finest ridge walk in Scotland, the only one that comes close, again in my opinion, is the one over at An Teallach. I have only completed it twice, once on this occasion with my wife in early summer. We were lucky to get a sparkling clear day with a fair smattering of high cloud which painted the hills with cloud shadows fortuitously creating 3 -dimensional shapes out of rather flat light. I was intrigued by the rose tinted granite rocks given more credence than they otherwise would have had by the clashing green carpet of grass on the high slopes.
