The Forth rail bridge spans the Firth of Forth north of Edinburgh and is about as iconic a bridge ever built in Scotland, or indeed the UK. It takes around five years to paint it from end to end and as soon as they finish one end they start again at the other. It rarely seems to be free of scaffolding equipment these days. I find it best suited to twilit photography and on this evening a strong rosy glow formed over the top and mixed with the tungsten lights of the far shore it makes a really quite beautiful image.
