A certain Slant of light
12 January 2006 (118)

Fovant, Salisbury, UK

I nearly called this shot 'Catch it while you can' -- as I took it yesterday to celebrate the first prolonged period of sunlight
and blue sky we've had in days (which felt like weeks...); and it's now back to being grey and foggy (rather than simply overcast...).
As the sun came round to the back of the cottage in the afternoon, it shone through this bottle of what is rapidly becoming my favourite single malt:
creating some beautiful, rich tawny colours both inside and outside the bottle (which is a beautiful shape, by the way...).

So what better way of celebrating the short-lived -- but glorious -- sunshine, than to take a shot in the afternoon,
and follow it with one later in the evening (...taken, this time, with a wee drop of water, of course)!?

(This is from batch number 15, by the way:
a yummy 59.6% alcoholic strength.)

I prefer Cardhu myself which is just across the river Spey. Aberlour also very good for Shortbread!
Great lighting on this one Stephen.

I'm with Eckhart, though the Aberlour is one of the better Speysides in my humble opinion.

Looks delicious! (Although I usually prefer Islay to the Speyside)
