30 January 2013 SRW (Sir Ranulph Whines)

The noontide sun
30 January 2013 (489)

Stratford-upon-Avon view map

How to capture the 50mph gusts I was walking into?
I probably didn't need that long an exposure,
the camera was being buffeted so much!

The floods had receded by over a metre
in the last two days; but, still, a lot of the paths
were treacherously wet and muddy.
Fun, though...!

Part of the sadly expanding gallery:
Floods: 2012-2013.

Inspired by the wonderful
Gilles Navet.

Very nicely composed. I love the movement in the grass.

Excellent windy shot.V

It's not easy to capture wind in a picture but you've got it here. Nicer reeds.

Thanks a lot for your kind words and your wonderful pictures.
You have, in any time, the talent to imagnie and realize great composition.

I think you have captured the gusty weather very well. Love the diagonal composition.

I do like the light in this picture, just perfectly caught on the reeds.
Colin Storey31-Jan-2013 11:11
Great mono image of the reeds blowing in the gales.

You captured this so very well, can see how bad this can get. Excellent in B&W. V

This is absolutely beautiful! \/
Eckhart Derschmidt30-Jan-2013 23:11
There is quite some motion in the reed, so it must have been stormy.
Well captured. Also like the bw processing.

A fine shot of a terrible situation! B&W is a good choice to emphasize the severity of the conditions! V

Superb image in B&W showing the strength of the wind. v
